Some 1,271 government organizations and 1,931 private companies work on programs related to counterterrorism, homeland security and intelligence in about 10,000 locations across the United States.
Why not one organization? And why are for-profit corporations working on anything related to national security?
Within the Defense Department alone, 18 commands and agencies conduct information operations, which aspire to manage foreign audiences’ perceptions of U.S. policy and military activities overseas.
So now we’re manipulating foreign governments’ perception of our policies? Why? We shouldn’t even be considering policies that require manipulation to be accepted.
